Community Character and Quality of Life
Many residents of Mayo have grown up on the Peninsula and it's not uncommon to find multiple generations living in very close proximity to each other. Other residents have come to the Peninsula looking for a more country feel and a quiet place to raise their families. Mayo has a rich history and a rich maritime culture. It's a quaint area and friendly and a very close community. These are the qualities the residents of Mayo are trying to retain. With the jump in development in the area, the residents are seeing more homes and less trees, more wildlife within their communities as they are pushed from their homes, larger school classroom sizes and more cars on the roads which endangers the safety of their children who enjoy being outdoors.
